Jenny Stewart was the award-winning Editorial Director at Gay.com and PlanetOut.com. She was named one of Curve Magazine's 10 most Powerful Women in Music, and was also named one of POWER UP's 10 Amazing Gay Women in Hollywood, an honor shared with Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch and numerous others.
"When trying to reach a large audience about LGBT media representations and issues of defamation, coverage by Jenny Stewart is not only essential but absolutely crucial,” says Damon Romine, Entertainment Media Director, GLAAD.
In 2008, Stewart’s groundbreaking column focusing on Howard Stern’s positive impact on the G&L community continues to be picked up by countless media outlets, and was discussed several times on the Stern's Sirius/XM radio show on Howard 100 News.
An industry insider, Stewart has interviewed numerous celebrities, including Tina Fey, Susan Sarandon, Janet Jackson, Stephen Colbert, Moby, Debbie Harry, Belinda Carlisle, Maureen McCormick (AKA Marcia Brady), Kim Deal, Cloris Leachman and dozens of others. Her compelling interviews were picked up by mainstream press on a regular basis, and her 2009 interview with Linda Ronstadt was praised as one of the legendary singers best. Stewart managed to get most of her celeb interviewees to participate in the game "Who Would You Rather...?", the results of which always obtained press coverage.
Jenny's interest/obsession with Web video started back in 2007, when she co-produced and managed the highly acclaimed PlanetOut Short Movie Awards.
Jenny's currently at CBS Interactive, where she's the Executive Producer at CHOW.com, a top 10 Food/Entertaining site. She coordinates and Executive Produces production of all CHOW.com original video series.
